FEELING AT HOME IN IRELAND

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27

Road in morning in Ballinatona
Morning walk, Ballinatona

The fog held a soft purple light on the hills and houses this morning, The air was still, no wind moved the ocean.

I’m still obsessed with the Kavanaugh hearings. It feels strange to think of Ford and Kavanaugh in this cozy room by the sea, seemingly a million miles away and a country apart.

I was exhausted this morning..maybe from all the walking plus yoga last night, maybe because this radical change in lifestyle has an impact. I don’t know.

We walked the loop today, and picked up Poppy, (a playdate for Saffi) and another little dog, a mutt who was playing by himself at the beach and decided to join the dog party. Soon we were walking three dogs…or they us.

After the walk, we drove to Skibbereen to shop, and for the first time we felt comfortable, like we live here. We knew where to go for what, bumped into people we’ve met before. Very exciting…we are making our lives happen here…it is possible!
