SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14
First it was Pat’s house to use her internet, but it was nearly impossible to get anything done. She brought the ironing board into the kitchen where we were working and talked constantly.
Next was our last walk with Sally and it all felt quite empty and sad saying goodbye. We probably would not stay in touch, and having spent such great times with her and Rosie, that felt strange.
We also stopped at Mary’s and she showed us around her kitchen, which they are renovating. The dogs played while we talked. Mary will be greatly missed…for her gentle kindness. She had to rush off; she is doing people’s hair in the hospital once a week.
We washed Fiona’s car. Quite a project between the accumulated dirt and hair from Saffi, and the remains of dried throw up. I tried to take some model photos for Chloe. Not so great at that…. And we started to plan the next part of our journey…the atlas came out and we sat on the couch sorting where we want to go, what we want to accomplish.
Another big transition, preparing to be on the road again, dealing with our luggage, uprooting from a place that is now familiar. I feel anxious. Excited but also anxious. I’m thinking differently now, transitioning, planning forward, preparing myself for the unknown.
We will move quickly through Scotland, spend a bit more time in London then off we go to Europe. Chloe still wants to learn Spanish, so maybe in Barcelona, if we can stay there two weeks.
I’m hoping I can catch up with emails to people when we are in London. It’s been hard communicating from here, not just the Internet problem, but also my lack of interest.
Wondering what I will have at year’s end to account for an entire year. Haha..memories of travels with Chloe!
