WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 14
The day felt hectic because we had to get to Skibbereen to buy hen feed. Haha. Who are we? First visit ever to a farm store.
We also had our callanetics class, the second of five. Ah, the pain of it. Today was a private lesson, just Chloe and me, no one else showed up. So great, really.
Dogs, hens, pigs got the “usual” – three dog walks, etc. A young woman from Seattle who is on a fellowship stopped by, which means she appeared outside the livingroom windows, waved and we directed her to the back door. She will be taking care of the horses for a couple weeks. She arrived from Dublin, and was bubbling with enthusiasm. I’m a bit concerned we may be taking care of her in the coming days, but it will be nice to have another person around. She’s studying horses culture around the world, a project of her own making. Pretty fantastic.
This huge house isn’t for us. We like things smaller. Less rather than more. Though we do love all the animals, it will be nice to return to Fiona’s house. Our walking conversation revolved around why some people choose to have so much, how it influences their lives and children, and how people’s choices differ.
Full moon shone on the ocean. We stood in the girl’s gigantic bathroom and ogled it.
A regular day for us…at least this week.
