SATURDAY, DECEMBER 15
The day was spent on our computers trying to find a place to live in Milan. All day, and no luck.
MAKING OUR PLANS SIMPLER
I called my friend P’s friend, Jocelyn. I was looking forward to meeting her – and today was the day – but felt sick and so instead we had a long talk on the phone. She was perky and informative, to the point of being slightly annoying. But she assured me that without a stamp on my passport I would have no problem staying in Europe as there is no way any government would bother tracking my movements.
We decided Hazel and I accompany Chloe to Milan, then Hazel and I would go to Portugal for a few days as planned (without Chloe) and return to Milan. Chloe and I would live there for three months.
We sat on the couch, planning until our computers died., our heads throbbed. Then out we went for one last shopping excursion at Zara. Back to clean and pack. Our last night in Barcelona.
